There is one woman who is all that stands between us and the eternal night.

Here is an account of her legend....

All Damali Richards ever wanted to do was create music and bring it to the people. Now she is a Spoken Word artist and the top act for Warriors of Light Records. But come nightfall, she hunts vampires and demons—predators that people tend to dismiss as myth or fantasy.

But Damali and her Guardian team cannot afford such delusions, especially now, when a group of rogue vampires have been killing the artists of Warriors of Light and their rival, Blood Music. Strange attacks have also erupted within the club drug-trafficking network and drawn the attention of the police. These killings are a bit out of the ordinary, even for vampires. No neat puncture marks in the neck to show where the life’s blood has been sucked from the body. These bodies have been mutilated beyond recognition, indicating a blood lust and thirst for destruction that surpasses any Damali has encountered before.

Damali soon discovers that behind these brutal murders is the most powerful vampire she has ever met, and this seductive beast is coming for her next. But his unholy intentions have also drawn the focus of other hellish dark forces. Soon Damali finds herself being pulled deeper into the vast and horrifying vampire world.

Taschima's POV:

I'm going to start by saying this is not going to be a very large review. I have a few thoughts about this book, but not as many as in Lover Avenged.

We start easily enough. With a quick tour of the past, and then we go head first to the future. Damali is your average rock star. Few gigs here, and there. But she has a darker secret only her fellow band members know about. She is a huntress. Hunts vampires, and a few extra demons at night. Her friends, and practically family back her up, preparing her for the present, and the vast, dark, unholy future that lies ahead. Will Damali be strong enough to conquer her fears and inner passion? Or will she give in to rebellion, and temptation?

I thought the whole book was a first chapter. An introduction to the entire series. Since the first chapter we start off fighting and with secrets. I tell you it can get your head to spin and spin until you finally scream 'What the hell is going on!?'. It can get a little confusing at times. Plus the writing isn't that great. It's solid, but not out of the park.

Another thing, they are musicians, but we don't see a lot of music. More like kick ass action.

The characters are enjoyable, but I think we only got to see the surface of them. Not much character development in this installment. Well, maybe a tiny bit from Damali. But that's it. then again it's the first book, and it's a long series.

One thing is for sure, this ain't no dazzling vamps we got here. They are dark, they are evil, and they hate the sunlight. They got their own agenda, and let me tell you, nowhere in it does it involve dieting or saving the world; more like conquering it. I got to say, it's refreshing to see the badass side of vampires once again.

PS; I went to Books By Their Cover, and found this red dot... Click Here is you enjoy torture, or just want to have a good laugh. I double dare you!

I got The Treasure Map of Boys by E. Lockhart. *is still feeling geeky euphoria* lol. I liked your "curiosity killed the kitty" comment. But is it true? Or are you just joking about being half persian? o.O
